Fuel iX Copilots — Week 37 · September 7–13

This week brought a solid mix of new capabilities and quality-of-life improvements. Highlights include a built-in way for copilots to answer questions about the platform itself, a higher file upload limit, and a range of fixes that make everyday interactions smoother and more reliable.

  • Copilots can now answer questions about Fuel iX: A built-in documentation tool lets copilots automatically search the official Fuel iX docs and return accurate, up-to-date answers with cited sources shown directly in chat — no more guesswork when asking about platform features.

  • Usage metrics now display correctly: Fixed an issue where the Usage page showed zero values for all users. Consumption data now accurately reflects actual platform activity, so monitoring and reporting are reliable again.

  • Improved data table accessibility: Tables now show truncated text with always-visible, keyboard-accessible tooltips, include proper screen reader announcements for sort state, and keep action columns correctly pinned at any viewport width.

  • Fixed file replacement blocked for same-name files: Resolved a bug where uploading a replacement file with the same name as an existing one was incorrectly flagged as a duplicate, preventing the update from going through.

  • Improved match text display in search results: When searching about Fuel iX knowledge, search result match text now renders with proper spacing, making results easier to read at a glance.

  • SharePoint connection can now be enabled by default via feature flag: Administrators can enable SharePoint and expand its connection settings by default through a feature flag, streamlining setup for organizations that rely on SharePoint without requiring manual configuration each time.

  • Bulk user creation is more reliable: Fixed CSV parsing and validation issues that caused valid users to be incorrectly rejected or silently skipped during bulk uploads. The fix improves handling of international names, quoted fields, and malformed email addresses.

  • MCP gateway tools now have more time to complete: The execution timeout for MCP gateway tools has been extended from 5 seconds to 30 seconds, preventing premature failures when a tool needs a little more time to finish.

  • Improved platform stability during high traffic: The circuit breaker now correctly distinguishes between actual failures and timeout events, reducing false alerts and keeping the platform stable during periods of elevated load.

  • Improved API key rotation reliability: Fixed edge cases in virtual account API key management so the system always selects the correct active key during rotation, even when credentials are out of sync — preventing authentication failures mid-rotation.

  • Threads can now be linked to a specific copilot: When creating a conversation thread, you can associate it with a particular copilot. That association is stored and returned whenever you retrieve thread details, making it easier to keep conversations organized across different copilots.

  • Better support for Gemma 4 Saif model copilots: New copilots created with the Gemma 4 Saif model will automatically use the latest deployment configuration. Existing copilots are unaffected.
