What's New in Fuel iX Copilots — Week of March 30, 2026

This week's edition has a headline worth stopping for: the Image Generation tool just got a major upgrade — users can now edit images directly within conversations, no external tools required. We're also completing the rollout of the platform's new Announcements system, with both the admin tools to create and manage announcements and the "What's New" page where users can discover them now live together. The newsroom is busy this week — let's get into it.

🚀 Generally Available (GA)

Image Editing Now Available in the Generate Image Tool: The Image Generation tool has been expanded to support editing existing images, not just creating new ones. Upload an image and describe your changes, or reference a previously generated image in the conversation and ask for edits — the tool automatically determines whether to create or modify based on your intent. Copilots with Image Generation enabled inherit this capability automatically.

Complete Announcements System Now Live: The platform's new Announcements feature is fully live for both administrators and users. Administrators can create, publish, hide, and delete feature announcements directly through the Admin Portal and API, with full English and French bilingual support — no developer assistance required. Users can now discover these announcements through a dedicated "What's New" page accessible from the app switcher, which renders in their current language and updates in real time when switching between English and French. New announcements also surface through an in-app modal so important updates are always visible.

Further Improved Knowledge Base Processing Performance: Additional optimizations to the embedding service's request handling mean knowledge base file processing is faster and more consistent, even during periods of high concurrent activity. This builds on the embedding reliability improvements shipped the previous week.

More Accurate Knowledge Base Search Results: The platform now tracks which embedding model was used when a knowledge base was built, and ensures the same model is used when searching it. This eliminates a subtle mismatch that could affect retrieval quality, making knowledge base search results more accurate and consistent.

More Accurate Team Member Counts: Team member counts now correctly reflect only human users. An issue where virtual service accounts were being included in the member total when a new team was created has been addressed, ensuring the numbers you see in Team Management are accurate.

Polished File Status Indicators: File error icons in the interface are now properly sized and visually consistent with the rest of the UI.
