What's New in Fuel iX Copilots — Week of March 9, 2026

This week's edition is packed with power. The newsroom is reporting a landmark story: two new sovereign AI models have joined the Fuel iX lineup, AI responses got a significant rendering upgrade, and the Chat Summaries alpha feature expanded with new capabilities. We also have major improvements to file processing, the developer API, and quality monitoring tools. Buckle up — this is a big one!

🚀 Generally Available (GA)

Two New TELUS Sovereign AI Models: Two new models are now available in the Copilots model selection — wâsikan Qwen 3 Next 80B and wâsikan Llama 3.3 70B. Both support tool calling and Generative UI, giving you more powerful and flexible AI capabilities built on TELUS's sovereign AI infrastructure.
(PHX-165)

Enhanced AI Response Rendering: AI responses now feature improved formatting, smoother streaming animations, and built-in support for mathematical expressions and flowcharts. Complex outputs — from equations to diagrams — are now easier to read and understand as they stream in.
(PHX-56)

Claude 4.5 Haiku Model Update: The Claude model family has been updated to use Claude 4.5 Haiku, ensuring Copilots mapped to this family reflect the current model with accurate display names.
(PHX-99)

Consistent Display Name Updates: Display name changes made via the Admin API or profile page are now reliably synced to user accounts throughout the platform — including the header, dashboard welcome message, and avatar. No more stale names after an update.
(ATL-46, ATL-30)

Knowledge Base Clears Correctly When Custom Namespace Is Removed: Resolved an issue where knowledge base associations were not properly removed when clearing a custom namespace from a Copilot configuration. Copilot configurations now remain accurate and consistent.
(PHX-156)

Official Copilots Now Visible to Their Owners: Fixed a visibility gap where Official Copilots in draft state were invisible to their own owners in the My Copilot Hub. Owners can now always find and manage their Official Copilots.
(PHX-71)

Scheduled Tasks — Duplicate Reminder Fix: Resolved an issue where scheduled tasks could trigger duplicate reminder notifications. Each scheduled task now fires exactly once as expected.
(PHX-96)

API — Tool Call Responses Now Complete: The required_action field was previously missing from thread run API responses when a run reached requires_action status, breaking tool-use workflows. This field is now correctly returned, ensuring uninterrupted tool call handling for developers building agentic applications.
(PHX-1)

Developer Portal — API Key Expiration Controls: Developers can now set custom expiration windows when creating projects or generating API keys. Key details now display formatted creation and expiration dates for improved clarity, and the app list refreshes automatically after project deletion.
(ATL-122)

Developer Portal — Service Account Transparency: A new disclaimer is now shown when creating service accounts, clearly communicating that the virtual user will inherit the same permissions and Copilot access as the owner.
(ATL-40)

Admin API — Usage Summary Endpoint: A new usage summary endpoint provides aggregated metrics — including requests, prompt tokens, completion tokens, and cost — across a specified date range, making it easier to monitor and manage AI consumption directly from the dashboard.
(admin/api/v1.4.0)

Faster PDF Processing: Parallelized OCR processing now works correctly, significantly reducing processing times for multi-page PDF documents uploaded to knowledge bases.
(PHX-103)

Larger File Support for Knowledge Bases: The maximum chunk limit for file ingestion has been increased from 5,000 to 20,000 chunks, allowing larger text documents to be successfully processed and indexed.
(PHX-132)

Password-Protected PDF Detection: The file ingestion pipeline now correctly identifies and rejects password-protected PDFs early in the process, providing a clear error rather than silently ingesting incomplete content.
(PHX-134)

Improved Google Drive File Download Reliability: Fixed a timeout issue that could cause Google Drive file downloads to fail prematurely during knowledge base sync. Files now download reliably even when the process takes longer.
(PHX-157)

Faster PowerPoint Processing: PowerPoint files are now parsed only once during ingestion (previously parsed twice), reducing processing time and improving efficiency for PPTX knowledge base uploads.
(PHX-171)

AQM — Redesigned Interaction Details Page: The Interaction Details panel now opens in a full-screen modal, providing a more focused and spacious view of interaction data. A report download option is also available in the updated layout.
(aqm/v1.7.0)

AQM — Enhanced User Access Controls: AQM API endpoints now enforce active user validation, automatically filtering inactive users from results and blocking unauthorized access with role-based controls.
(aqm/v1.7.0)

Agent Trainer — Improved Scenario Management: This release delivers more reliable folder and scenario organization, including improved pagination for browsing root-level scenarios and folders, and a range of bug fixes for a more stable Scenario Management experience.
(ax/v4.15.1)

Agent Trainer — Event-Driven Infrastructure: The Agent Trainer API now automatically responds to user and organization lifecycle events, ensuring agent configurations stay in sync as your team and org structure evolve.
(ax/v4.16.0)

🔬 Coming Soon (Alpha Testing)

Alpha features are currently in early testing with select internal users. These capabilities are highly experimental and may evolve significantly or not make it to general release.

Chat Summaries — Continue in a New Chat: Users can now start a new conversation directly from a generated summary. The original prompt context is preserved and submitted as the first message in the new chat, making it easy to continue work seamlessly without losing your place.
(PHX-93)

Chat Summaries — Documents Carry Over: Documents uploaded during a conversation are now automatically available in new summarized chats. No need to re-upload files when continuing a conversation from a summary.
(PHX-92)

Chat Summaries — Refreshed Design: Chat summary components now have a more consistent, polished look that aligns with the Fuel iX design system, including improved modal sizing, updated button labels, and clearer expand/collapse controls.
(PHX-91)
