What it is

Fuel iX Copilot is a general-purpose copilot published by the Fuel iX team, available under Official copilots in your sidebar. It's designed to handle a wide range of everyday tasks: writing, research, analysis, brainstorming, summarizing documents, and more.

It's the best place to start if you're new to the platform, or if your task doesn't call for a specialized copilot.

When to use Fuel iX Copilot vs. another copilot

Fuel iX Copilot is great for general tasks. If your organization has published Official copilots tuned for specific workflows, those may serve you better for those use cases. And if you want a copilot configured just the way you like, you can build your own.

Starting a chat

1. Click Fuel iX Copilot under Official copilots in the sidebar.
2. Type your message in the input box at the bottom of the screen.
3. Press Enter or click the send button.

The copilot responds, and you can continue the conversation as long as you need.

To start a fresh topic, click New chat in the top-right corner. Your previous chats are always saved and accessible from All history in the sidebar.

What you can do

Fuel iX Copilot handles a wide range of requests. Here are some things worth trying:

Writing and editing Ask it to draft, rewrite, summarize, or proofread. Give it context about your audience and tone and it'll match your voice.

Research and analysis Ask questions about topics you're working on. Upload a document and ask for a summary, key takeaways, or specific information. Enable Search internet to pull in current information from the web.

Brainstorming Describe a problem or goal and ask for ideas, options, or a plan. It helps to push back and ask for alternatives — the second round is often better than the first.

Data and code Paste in data or a spreadsheet and ask it to identify patterns, calculate something, or write a formula. With Code Execution enabled, it can run Python directly in the chat.

Document analysis Upload a PDF, DOCX, CSV, or TXT file and ask questions about its contents. Great for long documents you need to get through quickly.

Getting better responses

The quality of what you get back is closely tied to the context you provide. A few things that consistently help:

Be specific about what you want. "Write a project update" is harder to get right than "Write a 3-paragraph project update for a senior leadership audience summarizing what we've done this sprint and what's coming next."

Include the why. Mentioning what the output is for — a Slack message, a client presentation, an internal doc — shapes the tone and format.

Iterate. If the first response isn't quite right, tell it what to adjust. "Make it shorter," "use a more formal tone," "focus on the second point" — these work well.

Use context from your files. Attach a document before asking questions about it. The copilot works from what you give it.

About AI responses

Responses may vary, and the copilot can make mistakes — especially on specific facts, numbers, or recent events. Always review outputs before sharing them, and use Search internet for time-sensitive information.

Uploading files

Click the attachment icon (📎) in the message input to upload a file. Supported formats include PDF, DOCX, TXT, CSV, XLSX, and PPTX.

Once uploaded, the file is available for the rest of that chat. You can upload multiple files and reference them together.

Individual files can be up to 30MB.
