Alpha and beta features
Fuel iX operates at the frontier of generative AI — an industry that moves faster than any traditional product lifecycle can accommodate. We make new capabilities available before they've completed the full journey to general availability, labeled as alpha or beta so you know what to expect.
This page explains what each label means and lists all features currently in an early phase.
Alpha features
Alpha features are our earliest explorations — experiments we're running together with you. We make them available early not because they're finished, but because real-world use helps us figure out what "finished" should look like.
What to expect:
- Active development: the feature is being shaped in real time based on usage and feedback
- Instability: alpha features may behave inconsistently or change significantly between updates
- Limited documentation: guidance may evolve alongside the feature
What not to expect:
- Guaranteed bug fixes: we welcome all feedback but make no commitment to resolve individual issues within the alpha phase
- Long-term availability: an alpha feature may be discontinued if it doesn't demonstrate sufficient value
Your feedback is the most valuable thing you can give us at this stage. When you use an alpha feature, you're helping determine whether and how it moves forward.
Beta features
Beta features have moved past the exploratory phase. They represent capabilities we believe in and are actively refining. A beta feature is more stable than alpha, but still being shaped by real-world use before we're ready to call it done.
What to expect:
- Bug fixes: issues that affect core functionality are addressed within a normal release cadence
- More stability: major functional changes are communicated in advance
- Documentation: features are fully documented and maintained
What not to expect:
- Guaranteed performance or SLAs: beta features are not yet covered by the same guarantees as GA features
- Full feature completeness: there may be known gaps or edge cases still being resolved

When a feature graduates
When a feature moves from alpha to beta or beta to GA, we remove the label from the feature's documentation and update this page. No action is needed on your part — the feature just keeps working.
