What makes a copilot "official"

Official copilots are created and managed by administrators. They're organization-approved, consistently configured, and available org-wide. Unlike custom copilots (which any user can build for personal or team use), official copilots represent tools the organization has specifically chosen to make broadly available.

Every Fuel iX organization includes the Fuel iX Copilot — the default general-purpose copilot — as its first official copilot. Your organization may have added others tuned for specific use cases, departments, or workflows.

Types of official copilots

Fuel iX Copilot — The platform's general-purpose assistant, created and managed by Fuel iX.

Custom official copilots — Copilots built by your admins for specific needs — a legal research assistant, a support triage tool, a translation copilot, or whatever your organization has built. They appear alongside the Fuel iX Copilot in the sidebar.

External copilots — Links to external tools or services managed through the same copilot interface. Clicking one takes you to an external URL rather than opening a chat. Used when administrators want to surface an external resource alongside your AI copilots for easy access.

Using an official copilot

1. Click the copilot's name under Official copilots in the sidebar.
2. Type your message in the input box and press Enter.

Official copilots work exactly like any other copilot — the difference is in how they're configured and who manages them, not in how you use them.

Each official copilot may have different tools, knowledge bases, and capabilities depending on how your admin set it up. Check the copilot details panel (click the copilot name at the top of the chat) to see which tools are available.

Getting a custom copilot made official

If you've built a custom copilot that would be valuable across your organization, ask your administrator to review it. Admins can promote a custom copilot to an official copilot, making it available org-wide.
