Advanced Tools
A suite of capabilities that can be enabled for copilots, including image creation, internet search, image analysis, reasoning, date and time, and file upload features.

All History
A centralized feature that allows users to access, search, and manage their entire conversation history across all assistants and copilots.

Alpha feature
A capability made available for early testing and feedback before it's fully developed. Alpha features may change significantly or be discontinued. See Alpha and beta features.

Anonymization
The process of automatically detecting and removing or masking personally identifiable information (PII) from user inputs before they are processed by AI assistants. This helps protect sensitive information and maintain privacy.

Apps Marketplace
The section in copilot settings where you browse and add MCP-powered integrations with external services like Atlassian, Notion, and GitHub.

Artifact
Any output or creation generated through a Prism interaction. In the context of Generative UI, artifacts are called Gizmos—shareable, interactive interfaces that can include visual designs, code snippets, data visualizations, or other specialized content that results from the collaboration between user and AI within the Prism environment. Artifacts maintain their context within conversations and can be exported for external use.

Auto-Sync
An automated feature that re-syncs an external folder connection (Google Drive or SharePoint) to a knowledge base on a 24-hour schedule. Requires admin enablement.

B

Ban Substring

A specific word, phrase, or pattern that is prohibited from being sent to AI assistants. Ban substrings are part of the content filtering system and can be configured by organization administrators.

Beta feature
A capability that has moved past alpha — more stable and fully documented, but still being refined before general availability. See Alpha and beta features.

Call Copilot
An alpha tool that lets one copilot invoke another during a conversation, creating multi-copilot workflows.

Chat
A single conversation thread with a copilot. Chats are persistent and accessible from All history.

Community
The section of Fuel iX Copilots where users can discover and share copilots publicly within the platform.

Community Copilots
User-created AI assistants that can be shared across an organization within the Fuel iX platform. These copilots allow teams to leverage collective knowledge, automate common tasks, and foster collaboration by enabling users to create, publish, and use specialized AI tools tailored to their organization's needs.

Content Moderation

The process of monitoring and regulating user-generated content to ensure it meets organizational standards and guidelines. This includes filtering inappropriate content, protecting sensitive information, and maintaining professional communication standards.

Conversational RAG
Retrieval-Augmented Generation for temporary document analysis within individual conversations. Users upload files (from device or Google Drive) that are processed for the current conversation only, separate from permanent copilot knowledge integration via External Connections.

Conversation Starters
A suggested prompt that appears above the chat input on a copilot. Helps users understand what the copilot can do and gives them a quick starting point.

Copilot
An AI assistant on the Fuel iX platform. Copilots are powered by large language models and can be general-purpose or configured for specific tasks, tools, and knowledge.

Copilot memory
An alpha feature that builds a shared memory bank for a specific copilot from interactions with all users of that copilot. Different from personal memory. See Memory.

Custom Copilot
A copilot built and configured by a user. Can be kept private, shared with specific people or teams, or published to the Community.

Default Copilot
The copilot that loads automatically when a user logs in. This is determined by the organization, but individual users can set a personal default that takes precedence.

Employee Assistant
Former name of the default AI copilot, now known as the Fuel iX Copilot.

External app
An MCP-powered integration with an external service (Atlassian, Notion, GitHub, etc.) that can be added to a copilot to extend its capabilities.

Folder sync
The process of connecting a Google Drive or SharePoint folder to a copilot knowledge base so its contents are ingested and kept in sync.

Fuel iX Copilot
The default general-purpose copilot available to all users. Formerly called the Employee Assistant.

G

Generative UI
The tool that enables a copilot to build and render interactive Prisms — live UI components — directly in a chat.

Guardrails
Content filtering and security measures configured by organization administrators to control what can be said to and by copilots.

Knowledge Base
A collection of documents linked to a copilot that it can search and reference when responding. Knowledge bases are permanent and available across all chats with that copilot.

Knowledge Hub
The comprehensive system for managing and integrating knowledge into AI interactions, encompassing both Conversational RAG and Knowledge Bases.

Landing Page
The initial page users see when accessing the Fuel iX application. This customizable entry point serves as a central hub, providing quick access to key features, recent activities, and important organizational announcements.

M

Match Type
The method used to compare user input against banned substrings or toxicity patterns. Different match types (e.g., WORD, SENTENCE) affect how content is analyzed and filtered.

MCP (Model Context Protocol)
An open standard that lets AI models connect to external tools and data sources. The protocol that powers the Apps Marketplace integrations.

Memory
See personal memory and copilot memory.

Model access
The configuration determining which AI models are available to users within an organization's Fuel iX implementation. Model access settings allow administrators to control the capabilities and resources available to different user groups, ensuring appropriate use of AI technologies.

Model family
A grouping of AI models from the same provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or TELUS Sovereign). Selecting a model family keeps a copilot automatically updated to the latest evaluated model in that family.

Official Copilot
A copilot created and managed by organization administrators, available to all users in the organization.

Organization administrator (admin)
A user with elevated permissions to manage org-level settings, users, copilots, external connections, and more.

P

Playground
An interactive interface within Fuel iX for direct interaction with and comparison of different AI models. The Playground allows users to experiment with various parameters, prompts, and model configurations to optimize AI performance and understand model capabilities in a controlled environment.

Personal memory
An alpha feature that lets users tell any copilot things about themselves (name, role, preferences) and have that information remembered across future chats. Private to the individual user. See Memory.

Pinned model
A specific AI model version locked to a copilot. The copilot uses this version indefinitely and doesn't automatically update.

Prism
An interactive UI application built using Generative UI within the Prisms workspace. A Prism is live and functional — not a mockup — and can be shared with other users.

Prisms
Fuel iX's multi-dimensional AI workspace framework that combines traditional chat interactions with specialized tools and visual outputs. Prisms provides a split-screen environment where users can converse with AI copilots while simultaneously creating and manipulating interactive UI applications (Prisms). vailable as a standalone app, also accessible from within any copilot chat when Generative UI is enabled.

Public Copilot
A custom copilot that has been published to the community and is available to all users within the organization. Different from Official Copilots, which are managed by administrators.

R

RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
The technology that enables AI assistants to incorporate specific knowledge from documents into their responses, available in both conversational and permanent forms.

Reasoning
A model setting (on supported models) that lets the model think through a problem before responding. Improves accuracy on complex tasks.

Red Team
A security-focused testing environment within Fuel Fortify, designed to simulate adversarial scenarios and identify potential vulnerabilities in AI systems. Red Team exercises help organizations enhance the robustness and security of their AI deployments by proactively uncovering and addressing weaknesses.

Restricted Copilot
A copilot that is shared with specific individuals or teams but not available to the entire organization.

S

SSO (Single Sign-On)
An authentication method that lets users sign into Fuel iX using their organization's existing identity provider (Okta, OneLogin, etc.).

System Prompt
The core instruction set that defines a custom copilot's role, behavior, constraints, and tone. Written by the copilot's owner.

T

Team Admin
A team member role that allows for management of team membership and settings.

Team Viewer
A team member role that allows access to team-shared copilots but cannot modify team settings.

Teams
Groups created within Fuel iX EX for streamlined collaboration and copilot sharing among members.

TELUS Sovereign
A model family operated by TELUS for workloads with Canadian data sovereignty requirements.

Token
A unit of text used by AI models (roughly a word or part of a word). Context windows and rate limits are measured in tokens.

Toxicity Threshold

A numerical value between 0 and 1 that determines the sensitivity of the toxicity detection system. Higher thresholds (closer to 1) indicate stricter filtering of potentially inappropriate content.

V

Viewer
A basic user role with configurable access to features in Fuel iX. Viewers typically have limited administrative capabilities but can interact with enabled AI models, copilots, and other features as determined by organization settings.

Voice dictation
An alpha feature that lets users speak their message and have it transcribed into the chat input. See Chats.
